Transcribe multiple files at once

Follow-up interviews, split meeting recordings, field notes spread across several files—when you have more than one file to transcribe, the old workflow meant uploading one, waiting for it to finish, then choosing the next. On Nikke’s transcription screen, you can now drag and drop multiple files at once. The file picker also supports multi-select.

Drop a batch of supported files—mp3, mp4, mov, m4a, and the other formats Nikke accepts—onto the upload area and they all join the processing queue. The first file starts transcribing right away; the rest appear in the side panel as waiting. When one finishes, the next starts automatically, so you do not need to keep re-selecting files while the tab stays open. You can add more files while others are still running; they are appended to the queue and handled in order.

In the side panel, the file in progress shows its status, and queued files are marked so you can tell them apart from completed ones. Finished items work as before—open them from the list to edit or export. If a selection mixes in unsupported formats, only those files are skipped; the rest still process.

Batch upload is especially useful when you want to turn a pile of recordings into text in one sitting. Split a long interview across several takes, line up segmented Zoom recordings, or work through back episodes of a podcast—pick everything once, then let Nikke run through the queue. Secret Mode works the same way: drop multiple files and they are processed one after another.

In short: pass several files via drag-and-drop or the file dialog, and Nikke transcribes them in sequence. The steps do not change as the batch grows. Next time you have a stack of audio or video to process, try dropping them all at once.
